Speech delays made worse in a bilingual household?

Has anyone had children who have speech delay and know whether if trying to raise them in a bilingual household makes things worse?

Also if anyone had a speech delay that in later years resolved itself?

I'm sure I've seen some posts before that suggest speech can be later when DC are learning more than one language.

I'd ask in the Multicultural Families Section though, you might get some MNers with experience in there
