DLA bandings - what would we be eligible for

Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone has a rough idea of the DLA banding awarded for one-side hemiparesis.

18 month old can’t use one hand and limited use of one foot, so can’t crawl, only drags body around with the other side, can’t stand or pull up, can only feed self with one hand etc.

I have completed the forms but haven’t sent them as not sure we would be awarded anything anyway.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with DLA, but you might want to repost your question in either SN Chat or SN Children – there are some really helpful posters there, and I think some of them have experience applying for DLA.

I’d say the highest amount of care and mobility bevagae your child will need the highest care. To get the highest you need to say child wakes during the night and needs care then. So it’s worth saying that your child doesn’t sleep all night long and needs a nappy change and a feed a couple of times a night. Also your child is very young but this issue isn’t going to go away so I’d say the highest mobility as they will not be able to walk
