She says that her son reacts to being taunted. Those are her words. In reality he reacts because he doesn't like to be challenged which might occur when he doesn't follow the rules of a game, and the others boys insist he plays proerly so as not to spoil it for anyone else. He also does it when another boy does something he doesn't like or when he gets jealous. She says she doesn't agree with what he's doing but does little to stop or discipline him. Instead, blaming the victims to justify his behaviour and avoid dealing with it. All the boys are school friends and only 8yo. But he's been doing this since last year. No other child in that friendship group hurts anyone else. Only 2 weeks ago he punched a boy in the throat and before that sat on another boy's throat after knocking him to the ground. Finding her response hard to comprehend. Harder still is the reaction of other parents who've distanced themselves from us but become closer to the mum of the violent child.
