Hi mumS
i have a 14month old that has never needed much of my attention , never noticed I even left the room But all of a sudden he is crying every time I leave the room I can’t understand it. It’s very overwhelming I can’t put him down
I had a child after 19 years I have one boy who is now an adult so I am really new to all this again and I just can’t understand it as he was a different baby just days back

Dont worry, my little boy went through this from about 13 months to 14 and a half months. It was challenging but I just tried to be there for him and support his as much as I could. I started telling him where I was going e.g. "mummy is going to the kitchen" then saying "mummys back" when I came back into the room so he would see I would always be coming back. Has he started walking recently by any chance? Often when they do they realise they are seperate for you and it can trigger seperation anxiety. All of my friends noticed the same thing at some point between 12 and 18 months so it's really common. Seperation anxiety peaks at around 18 months and can last until they're about 3 my hv told me. It seems to come in waves for us, he'll be totally fine for a few weeks then a few weeks of velcro toddler 🙃
