Hi everyone, my son (speech delayed, possible mild ASD) has trouble transitioning between tasks, mainly when it involves changing people or location. So he gets upset when his childminder picks him up from preschool (he's happy 60 seconds later) or when we change locations or we are about to see other people. He is so excited about it on the way there but as soon as he sees them or sees the door to their house he melts down. This happens with people he absolutely loves, like his little cousin or his grandmother (his favourite human in the world!). I've tried preparing him and talking about it on the way there, I've tried a visual diary of how we will progress from one place to another, and I've tried social stories (but maybe I need more practice with those). I would appreciate any advice!
