15month old not eating following covid

My 15 month old has never been an enthusiastic eater but after catching covid 2 weeks ago he’s lost his appetite altogether, and even foods that he would reliably eat (yogurt, banana) are rejected sometimes without so much as a bite. The only thing he wants is formula. Any advice for getting him back on track, or did anyone else find their children were similarly affected after covid?

I guess he might have lost his sense of smell and taste? Also, I remember when I had COVID I didn't feel like eating for a while.
At least he is having formula. That will give him a decent amount of calories. Maybe give your GP a call if he doesn't get back to normal in a few days?

Totally agree with Feline. It's perfectly normal for little ones to only want their usual milk when they're feeling poorly.

Maybe try him with a dose of paracetamol tomorrow and see if that encourages him.

Agree too with leaning it at least a couple of days then asking the GP to check his ears, throat abs tummy to see if there's anything else going on that might affect his appetite.

Thanks for your replies, really appreciate it.

He’s eaten everything offered to him at nursery today (first day back in), including stuff he wouldn’t normally eat, so either he’s feeling much better or he’s just saying no to us!
