7 year old fussy eater becoming worse!!

My 7 year old dd has always been a REALLY fussy eater. I try so hard to include a large variety of foods but ultimately she only eats plain pasta (fusilli shape), rice and chicken tikka masala (cooked in a particular way), bolognese, burgers, steak and chips. Veg only cucumber and any other veg is hidden in homemade burgers and sometimes bolognese sauce though I still offer everything visible everyday too but never touches it.

I’ve taken a very chilled approach up to now, not being too pushy or forcing to finish plates etc (I was force fed as a child and hated it) but it’s really getting worrying now. Sometimes I feel like she looks ill because of how little she eats. School lunches are a total no go so they’re providing her with plain pasta so she has something to eat. Breakfast she has peanut butter on toast but recently she’s having a third of her toast. Loves fruit but she can’t survive off fruit.

Any tips hugely appreciated.

Is she neurotypical @Mamabearwhere?

Mamabearwhere · 14/12/2021 08:23

@PanicBuyingSprouts yes she is. I had her assessed as she has ASD traits but they said she’s not on the spectrum and is just a particular in her ways child. Probably OCD

I would have her reassessed.

The reason I was asking is that my DD is very much like this and I was always told there was nothing to worry about.

Does she have any other little quirks?
