Words ending in 's' sounding like 'sxxx'

Hi, my son will be 3 in Feb and his speech is quite amazing, actually. However, if he says a word ending in 's' such as, sausages, clowns, shoes, they almost sound like he's saying sausagexxx, clownsx and shoex but sounds like a lot of saliva at the end of the word he's pronouncing if that even makes sense? May be worth also adding that any word starting with an 's' he just misses the S out completely so smile becomes 'mile', smelly becomes 'melly'... you get the gist! Just wondering if this is something he's likely to grow out of? Thanks!
