2 year old wants to go down stairs in the night

Hey so I'm wondering if anyone's gone through this and has any advice.

My 2 & a half DD wakes in the night pretty much every night and cries her eyes out to come down stairs. Now I do try to say no but my DP works really hard and I hate to keep him up with her crying as she takes ages to settle upstairs.
We also have elderly next door who are lovely and I hate the thought of keeping them up to :(

Any ideas to make it bearable to keep her upstairs x thanks

Just calmly say no and keep her upstairs. Your DP chose to be a parent so a few nights of disturbance comes with the territory and your elderly neighbours will have been woken by children and babies before and can nap in the day if they're tired.

Just be firm but loving with her and keep saying something like "it's time for sleep now".

I used to just go downstairs and nap on the couch with mine while they watched a cartoon in the middle of the night. It was easier than listening to crying. When they fell asleep i’d carry them back up. They are older now and all sleep well through the whole night.
