Struggling with my almost 9 year old ds. The rudeness and constant winding up fiends , siblings , me and his dad has reached a new level! He is so rude will ignore most instructions and constantly seems to be looking for attention via bad behaviour . I really thought that by this age ( year 4 at school now ) he would be starting to mature a tiny bit and realise constant rudeness and attitude is dull! Main issue is I think when he feels shy or anxious he tries to ‘show off’ by acting really silly and rude. I’ve tried lots of things to deal with the behaviour and nothing seems to work . Is ignoring it bad parenting? I feel like he wants attention for it but when it involves winding his siblings up etc I feel I can’t just ignore .. consequences work temporarily but rarely for long
