What is the right age to have tennis lessons?

Don't know if there's a right age. Have they shown an interest?

Yes but he is only 5. I got him 1 lesson and watching it it didn't look like loads of progress (maybe you would expect that). There is a group starting job 30th august, apparently he would be well able but I guess the instructor would say that

Tennis is quite a hard sport even for adults to get to grips with so maybe you're expecting a bit much? I'd say 5 is an appropriate age especially if he's saying he wants it so I'd give him a chance
