Does my baby have autism?

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can help. My daughter’s development is significantly behind other babies we know and when I have googled the issues she is having everything online is pointing to autism. She is 12 months old and the main things we have noticed are

1. Stares blankly into space for approx 30 seconds and it is impossible to get her attention

1. Communication behind (speech, pointing, responding to name, clapping and waving)

Note she never responds to her name. You could say it 20 times and she won’t turn. She has had severe eczema and we thought that may have impacted her development but we are unsure. Should we go to the doctors or are we over the top first time parents?

Our daughter had her hearing checked and it is normal.

have you had their hearing checked - could be glue ear

You would want to rule out seizures if they're not responding. I would video and then show your GP and ask for a referral.

Autism is a socio-communication disorder.
