15 month old afraid of other babies

My daughter was born at the start of lockdown. She is a PFB and also a first GC. Very few of my friends have children. As a result over lockdown we had practically zero contact with other babies and children.

Now that things are starting to open up and we are trying to spend more time with other mums and babies I can see that she is terrified of other children. It doesn’t matter if it is a boisterous toddler or a baby sitting and playing quietly her response is the same. She clings to my leg the entire time if she sees another child. She is also afraid of some adults including family members she sees often and will only allow myself, DH and DGP to hold her.

Has anyone else experienced this with their children? If so I would love to hear what you did to slowly improve their confidence. I would like for her to start going to nursery for a couple of days a week in the Autumn but right now this seems impossible.

If it's a form of separation anxiety the best thing to do is to just give her lots of reassurance.

My DS was a bit quiet and I found that if we went to groups, he was better if we turned up early so that he wasn't walking into a very busy, noisy room.
