Hi guys, go easy on me.. we've been having a bad morning since the second he woke up at 6am.. he's screamed and cried the house down for over 2 hours and I just lost my rag with him... I couldn't feed him, pick him up he'd cry and squeal, put him down he'd continue.. everything I did and didn't do resulted in the same outcome.. I feel utterly terrible in shouting at him and I said things I regret now but he hasn't stopped for over 2 hours... I know it's wrong but I over boiled.... Help :-( :-(

Oh my love, don’t feel bad! Most of us will have been there, I definitely have! It doesn’t mean anything about you as a mother, so please don’t overanalyse this or beat yourself up over it.

Of course if it’s part of a bigger thing, and you think you’re struggling, then do reach out to friends and family around you - but a momentary loss of your patience is no big thing, even if it feels it right now. Sending you a big hug xx

Is this unusual behaviour for him? Could he be ill? Teething? It's very, very stressful when they cry for hours and nothing you do helps, do you have any support to give you a break? You know you did the wrong thing, it wouldn't have helped the situation and that's what you need, some help and support with the situation. You could try suitable pain medication if it might be teething pain. xxx
