Help me 😩 nearly 5 yr/o toilet accidents at school

Please help me with this. School/GP not helpful at all.

My nearly 5 yr old DD is having toilet accidents everyday she’s at school. She will either come home in a change of clothes, wet herself just as we are walking in from school or (like today) wet herself at some point at school and no one noticed until I pick her up at home time. This literally happens every school day. She does not have a UTI and GP said it’s likely behavioural. She has no accidents at home/on weekends etc. GP said take it up with school and school said they remind her more than usual but the problem is still happening. DD says she’s too shy to tell her teacher but the teacher responded that she can’t force her.

It might seem like a minor issue but it’s really upsetting for me and DD. I hate to think of her desperate for a wee and not telling anyone and then wetting herself and staying wet because no one has noticed.

Whilst a 5 year old shouldn't be having this many accidents as I'm sure you know , as a teacher for me I think the worst thing about this is that no one at school is noticing. Poor DD how absolutely horrible for her.

At a guess I would imagine that it's to do with shyness but also if no one is noticing then I would imagine she probably is a little embarrassed or worried about it by now, which is likely making her more reluctant as she isn't being supported at school.

I would ask to discuss with her teacher, and if they're still leaving her wet you need to speak to the head. That is not acceptable at all!
