12 months baby only want to be in my arms

as message says, i have a 12 months old baby that if i will let him, he will spend 24 h a day in my arms.

he goes to nursery and thought that will help him with some independence but I think as soon as he is home he clicks, mummy = arms

i want to think its a phase, and he will grow out of it.

any advice or similar experiences?

thanks

Has he always been like this or is it a recent thing? Could be separation anxiety.

I notice my DD who is also 12 months is the same after I’ve been at work all day.

He will grow out of it.

In the meantime, sit with him in your arms/on your lap on the floor and play with his toys. Slowly move the toy further away so he needs to get off your lap to reach it, you stay where you are and very close to him. Just move the toy slightly further away each time. Let him make the choice to move away to the toy. Slowly, slowly he'll get used to playing away from you/exploring by himself.
