I properly told my LO off today and feel awful

Took my LO to a toddler class today, she’s always been the most active one who pushes boundaries and the class leader is ok with this as long as she doesn’t go on main stage. Today my LO only wanted to go on main stage rather than participate in class. I told her several times she could not do this and took her off stage - each time resulted in a tantrum rolling on floor. After 3/4 times I said if this doesn’t stop we will have to go home to which she responded “no go home” so I believe she understood what I said. A minute later she literally climbed onto main stage looking for me giggling. I got her off stage, put her jacket on and we went home. In the car I told her why we had to go home. She has been so angry with me all day and won’t interact with me. I feel awful but at the end of the day it’s not just her attending classes and its not fair that other children are missing out on classes that parents are paying for. What would you do? Could I have handled situation differently?
