Nearly 12 week old - fussy at bottle and not eating much

Hi all,

I’m a first time mum to a DD who is turning 12 weeks on Wednesday. For the last two weeks, she has been pulling away from her bottle, feeding less than 4 ounces a feed and has dropped one evening feed altogether. At one point last week she was screaming anytime she was being fed and has since been put on Nutramigen milk (for suspected cows milk allergy) and omeprazole (for suspected silent reflux). She’s been on these for a week now and I haven’t seen much improvement. I’m getting really nervous she isn’t drinking enough and will lose weight (she isn’t a large baby anyway and only on 9th percentile). She’s always been a sleepy baby so is sleeping a lot (which isn’t unusual for her) but this is another factor im worried about. I’ve seen other threads of mums complaining about their around 3 month old showing these ‘bottle aversion’ behaviours and wanted to know if anyone had any advice on when this might pass?

Sorry for the essay - just feeling very worried 😟

Thanks

Have you tried a faster teat? My DD got super fussy on the bottle when she needed to go up a size!

I have! We had been using tommee tippee teat size 1 but DD kept falling asleep with those so I upped her to size 2. Some feeds she’s fine and others are awful so I don’t think it’s the teat or bottles - just no idea what else it could be!

In case anyone resonates with this post in the future..the solution for us was MAM bottles combined with a change of formula x
