Hi all,
My 14 month old has always had me a bit worried about his social and commmuncation skills. He was later to babbling and it took longer for him to respond to his name. We had him evaluated at 10 months and he did not qualify for early intervention. I am having him evaluated again because he has progressed in some areas (can say banana, out, eat, up) but he mostly only says words heavily in vowels. He does not say mama or dada yet, but he was babbling dada about 2 months ago and has stopped babbling dada, he is now babbling more vowels sounds and ya, ya, ya. I think he was actually saying "dada" to my husband but that has since stopped. He make eye contact when sitting in from of me, in his high chair, for diaper changes but when I hold him, like on my hip, he really refuses to look at my face. I went down the google worm hole and I also noticed he does not really do joint attention.. he sometimes will point to an object to get me to look at it but he mostly will hand me an object when he wants help. He was clapping, stomping his feet and blowing kisses, but he is very inconsistent with it the past few weeks. But he does love being around us and playing with us. He loves to play chase and he notices when I leave the room (or anyone). He goes to people when we are out to get their attention and does not seem to have any sensory issues I can see. No repetitive behavior either. I guess i'm looking for experiences of parents with children like this: good or bad. And what exactly was the diagnosis, severity or was this your little one and they eventually caught up? I dk if COVID has impacted the social impact, since we spent most of hislife not seeing people and doing the more social things we did.
I guess,

Oops. I dk how to edit it but It cut off. I guess I'm looking on anyone who experienced similar and what the outcome was? Did they catch up, did they end up with a diagnosis?
