My DD10 has just left home to go to school in tears because apparently, she's ugly. This has happened before - some days she's ok but others she says her hair/face is ugly and can't go to school looking like that. Obviously she always goes but sometimes she leaves home very upset (and late!) which I know will negatively affect the rest of the day.
She's absolutely not ugly. I know I'm her mum, but she's really quite pretty - long straight hair, lovely face, tall and willowy.
I don't get it.
It upsets me to see her like that. She's quite shy and feels so conscious all the time. What can I do?
