Sensory issues 8 year old excessive wiping advice urgent

My 8 year had issues when she was about 4 years old with wiping and went though a phase when I was getting out of an emotional abusive relationship, she even saw my ex come right up to my face. I got out but bad news he got PR as her step dad and every other weekend and half holidays. She has her two brothers and he has one of my children live with him. The system isn’t all great to victims.

Some time after Xmas when she stayed a week I noticed she picked poo from her bum but denied it but it was her, that stopped but now we have excessive wiping, finding toilet paper all over the house, towels in between her legs for ages after going to the toilet. Basically it’s got worse now. I’ve called GP and they will call back. Does this sound like sensory issues? The weird thing is the professionals all believed my ex , charming and very manipulative but she was fine when we got away for a long time and at first contact and over nights started all was fine but the week stayed longer this all started. She always been quite funny with clothes and stuff but it’s all started much more now.

I’ve asked my ex to re consider holidays and maybe just every weekend and as my daughter said she doesn’t want to stay long with him. He accused me of alienation even though I said we can compromise on holidays and he is the one telling my daughter stuff that isn true about me hurting her which I never done it. He was the one who abused me mentally terrible with threats but no one believed well not enough agains him and he has money he constantly buying the kids stuff and telling them I’m poor. but all this strange sensory issues tall started again when she stayed longer for holidays with him.

Any advice please other than GP?

Hi, really sorry to hear this.

Do you think if there's a way either you or someone could talk with her to truly understand what was going on whenever she stayed with your ex? It sounds more like psychological and needs to be addressed from the cause of it.

The GP thought so asked me to ask the school. I asked school and referred to school nurse but could take weeks. Also just rule out any urine infection or anything like that so doing that as well. I think it is as well

Did you yourself talk with her about her stay with your ex? Is there anyone else who she trusts can have a "casual chat" with her?

I might be over thinking (I hope so), but it sounds alarming to me honestly. Better to find out what disturbs her asap than later...

I think it’s anxiety related or sensory. It’s definitely recent and being away from me longer. She is quite sensitive with wiping etc. But yes it is slightly alarming that’s why Rule out urine infection and also she holds in pee at school she says. Toilet paper thing is recent but she has always on and off wiped. We done the urine infection and referral to school nurse.
