How the fuck do I get my kids to listen??

5 and 3 year old. They just ignore me! It’s so annoying. And then I shout because otherwise it ends up that ok talking to myself. I’ve tried doing the whole explaining why thing to them. Tried consequences. They don’t care. It’s beyond infuriating.

Do you get them to look you in the eyes when you’re telling them something? Mine are a bit older now and I still have to say ‘Can you look at me?’ to get them to take in what I’m saying.

I’ve not tried that recently. I’ll give it a go. In the past it’s not worked but I’ll try again. I’m feeling better this morning but I was so furious last night. Sent them both to bed with no stories last night so hopefully they’ll realise I’m serious again. They’re not always like this, just been bad recently.
