5 year old DD sudden onset bowel incontinence at night

I have posted in the past about 5 year old DD still not dry at night. She's been doing quite well and I'd say half the nights are dry now and pull ups only slightly wet for most of the others.

This past week, she's started having a poo in her sleep. She has never done this since being daytime potty trained age 2.5, possibly even earlier than that. Sometimes she wakes, sometimes not. She's a very heavy sleeper. I should add that this week she has been poorly with chicken pox so this may be contributing and of course the whole lockdown/homeschooling situation.

She's not generally an anxious person and denies being worried/scared/sad about anything.

Should I wait it out and hope it settles?

Are you sure she's doing it in her sleep or on waking ? My friends child had an issue with her child waking up then weeing / soiling the nappy. She basically solved this by gently waking himjust before his usual wake up time and immediately taking him to sit in the toilet each morning. She worked it out by checking his nappy during the night and his thoughtful look and lying in bed each morning was him having a relaxing wee not a slow wake up.
