What's all this about testosterone surges in little boys?

Ds turned 3 last week and I have had two friends warn me of the apparently dreaded testosterone surges that will happen from here on in. Apparently these will lead to some very difficult/aggressive behaviour.

Can anyone tell me more about this and advise on whether or not I need to build a shelter for me and dh?!!

lol at JG

The amount of times I say 'George don;t do that'.

It would possibly be less confusing for ds if his name was george

THANK GOD! we have been having a total mare with ds1 and 2. ds2 just 2 so hitting that horrible age and then ds1 is 4 next month. granted he has never been a quiet unopinionated boy but in the last month he has turned into the spawn of the devil. kicking, hitting, growling, etc. he ends up having such massive paddies that he is sweating and sobbing. it is just so hard.

prob not made any easier as we are travelling round europe in a motorhome for 6 months. i know, we are clearly mental. it was ok at first but it has all got too much. when i heard about this testosterone surge i flet relieved as i thought it was due to me being crap mother (i am sure i am not totally off the hook but you know what i mean).

i can't wait to get home to my house...with separate rooms and an upstairs! oh how the simple things will seem like luxury.. going to work for a rest!! haha. only 3 months to go!

thanks for making me feel better ladies. not been on mumsnet for months but this has really helped.

Hi NotQuite - I think I went into an orgy (not the most appropriate word) of 'who can see a squirrel out of the window' distraction etc etc, which, needless to say, neither of them were interested in.... tonight cuaght DS1 masturbating with a plastic frog - I pity their wives, I really do. (and my friends wonder why I drink..)

Oooh, yes, I remember Joyce Grenfell.

Since I last posted on this thread, ds has been quite angelic, by comparison.

Apart from the things he says. Oh God, the things he says
