Ok so I'm not really sure which topic to put this thread in but i had some great help here before when getting ds1 from his cot into a bed and i'm hoping that you'll be able to help me again.

from birth dd has posseted (sp?) but lately she seems to be bringing up pretty much all of her milk. the doc's are concerned that she's not putting on enough weight (she was 6lb 14oz at birth and 9lb on friday but apparently that's still not enough) yet they're not being very helpful about solving this. she has always had a small appetite and doesn't sleep very much and i'm thinking that this could all be connected. i think she does suffer from colic as she has green poo a lot and trouble bringing up her wind. infacol, dentinox and gripe water haven't helped though, and i did try the 'sensitive/easy digest' version of her aptamil formula without any improvement.

i really don't know what to do and i'm getting desperate now. ds (20 months) is being aggressive now to get attention as i'm pretty much chained to the sofa all day with dd trying to settle her. i am suffering from pnd and crying loads through feeling guilty about not being able to comfort dd and neglecting ds. i am on my own all week as dp works away and i need to improve the situation asap.

please help xx

Give it time the swing helped with my dd. People really dont understand how bad the crying gets with Reflux, until we were given gaviscon my dd way constantly upset and in pain.

Hiya, went to see an amazing hv today. she weighed katie and i'm so proud that she's put on 10oz this week! obviously the gaviscon is helping loads but if she wants a top-up before 4 hours has passed, i just have to give her plain milk and she tends to be quite sick after. the hv told me not to wind her, just hold her upright and quite firmly against my shoulder until the wind comes up as patting her back will make the reflux worse. she also told me to prop up the cot like i do if ds1 has a cough and this should help her sleep better. the biggest bonus was that the hv offered to do home visits to weigh dd as i said it was a struggle to get to the clinic (i'm post cs and pushing a double buggy uphill with a heavy toddler in cannot be good for my stomach). i feel so much more positive today xx

Hi - have just read through this and glad to hear you are sounding so much more positive. We had similar problems with dd when she was newborn - the thing that seemed to work for us was switching her formula from Aptimil to SMA. Weaning also helped, we did it at 4 months but I know it is still too early for you.
Good luck, I hope things continue to improve. I really feel for you....
