20 month old struggling to move on from bottles

Hi all, first time posting so hope I get this right! My little boy, 20 months, will still only really drink from a bottle. He'll try other kinds of bottles but gets upset quickly and doesn't want them. I've bought all styles to try and encourage him!

The last week or so he's moved on from laying down drinking to sitting up and holding the bottle up to drink (and sometimes falling backwards and whacking his head!). Has anyone else had this and can advise what bottles /cups might help him along?

He's a little behind - been on the cusp of walking for a while but still not there - but think he's going through a development phase at the moment as I havent pushed him sitting up drinking, he's just started doing it himself!

Thanks all. First time mum so please be gentle with me if i'm doing something obviously wrong!

We use 360 cups for milk and water (little one is 13 months) but before moving on to these we had a sippy cup with a spout thing. Perhaps you could give open cups a go as your little boy wouldn't need to tip his head back as much?

I don't think you are doing anything wrong but I would talk to the HV about the bottles and his not walking.

It might also be worth doing the mchat test before you speak to her to see if there is anything else going on Smile
