My 11 week baby is rubbing his nose frantically and almost constantly. I'm desperate for some help

Hi all. I am FTM and I'm starting to get desperate as i don't know what is happening to my 11 weeks baby, he is breastfed.

It's been 5 days since he is rubbing his nose frantically and almost constantly. There isn't anything I can see in his nose apart from the occasional mucus (mostly dry) which is not big enough to obturate his nostrils (most of the time is clear).

This tends to get worse during the evening and night but it also occurs during the day. He is slightly better when if i held him in an upward position in my arms but still does it. It upsets him so much he almost cries hysterically.

The humidity in the house is between 4.5%-6% and i have not changed the detergent I'm washing his clothes or any cleaning products used in the house.

He also tends to sleep with his mouth open often and snores.
My diet has been varied over the last 5 days days so don't think is the milk.
All of his clothes and bedding are 100% cotton.

I took him to the dr when it started but he only took his temperature and looked in his ears and said that because he wasn't able to see anything obvious he thought my baby would be coming down with a cold.... but it's been 5 days and no sign of a cold so far.

Does anyone know what triggers this upset behaviour for him?

Thanks all

Could it possibly be reflux and the acid is coming right up and hurting his nose? I know reflux babies are often happier when upright and you said it wasn’t so frequent when he was held up.
