My DD is about to turn 2.

What's your best toy suggestion for a 2 year old girl? Why has been your most successful purchase Smile?

And..as move into this next stage of toddlerhood 👶...what's your best day activity for that age...I.e - in the house, a craft, a puzzle, something home made etc etc.

Talk to me....( big hugs 🤗) x

No DD, but have a DS who is nearly 2 and loves animals, so is always playing with his toy farm!
For his second birthday I am thinking of getting him a toy kitchen! No other ideas though sorry.

Bigjigs do some beautiful wooden puzzles for that age group. Baker ross are great for craft kits and definitely have stuff aimed at that age group. Lego duplo is also fab, they do some great themed sets. Pretend play such as a kitchen, shop or even a mud kitchen.

These are all fantastic suggestions!

Please keep them coming....toys especially

I have a 2yr old and a 3yr old and the most consistently used toys I've purchased are:

  • Toy kitchen and accessories (cutting fruit, ice cream sets, toaster etc)
  • Little Tikes Coupe Cars, I got mine 2nd hand
  • Tepees, they use them to play camping, house, and various other games
  • Play doh sets
  • Duplo, we have huge amounts but the creations get bigger and more complex and they never seem to tire of it

Dolls. Play kitchen and tea set and play food etc(her main gift for Christmas just before turning 2 and it is always played with). Playdoh. Kinetic sand. Grimms rainbow. Any age appropriate jigsaws and puzzles. IMO orchard toys do the best jigsaws and my LO finds the pieces easiest to manipulate on these. She especially loves a big red bus one. And of course her favourite ..... ANYTHING she's not meant to be playing with! Grin

Grinhow true is that- "anything she's not meant to be playing with" !!

What about garden toys?
Has anyone bought the Little Tikes playhouses? Or recommend a good mud kitchen?
