Huge 7 month old.... anyone have one that became average size toddler/child?

Just that really, I'm curious. I'm small, my husband is relatively tall but neither of us has a huge build. Our toddler ds is long and lean, but our 7 month old DS is absolutely huge!! She had rocketed in weight and length since she was a few weeks old, from average 50th percentile at birth to 98th on both counts (and head circ increased a couple of centiles too, doc was happy with that as in proportion). Doubled birth weight in less than 3 months...EBF for what its worth.

I'm not worried, and extremely grateful she is so healthy, but curious ....as she looks like a 9-12 month old now, a noticable giant amongst similar aged babies.

Anyone have one of these babies that eventually levelled out amongst their peers?

Following as my DD is the same!! My brother and I were big babies and toddlers so I wondered if it was genetic (we were/are still normal sized FWIW)

Welcome to the beautiful big bub club!

My DD was always in the 98 percentiles as a bub - for weight, height and head so all in proportion. If I had a £1 for the number of "oh she's well fed" ( breastfed - and still breastfeeding!!) ...

She's now nearly 2 and taller than most 2 years olds but she's no lump! Tall and lean...

All bubs are different but percentiles come and go, change and waver....

My similar DS and I were told we were a good advert for BF by the health visitor

I still get a lot of 'what do you mean he's only two, he's so tall......' type comments (OK he's 3 NEXT WEEK) . Someone assumed he was 4 the other day Hmm

DD1was always 75% centile upwards. At 7 months was over 91%.

Now an adult she's a perfectly respectable 5'5" and about average weight for her height.

This is all very interesting, thank you!

My DS was a total chunk at 2. Once he was better on his feet and running around more, the weight dropped off. He's 6 now and slightly on the skinny side, if anything.

My DS rocketed from 75th to 99th centile from birth to 8 weeks. Also EBF.

He stayed on 99th centile until he was 12 months when he dropped to 97th centile (he was walking very confidently by then). He is now 3 years 4 months and 75th centile for height and weight. He has slimmed down but never looked skinny.

He’s quite tall compared to us we’re both very average I’m 5’4” and DP 5’10”. I’m pretty sure he will be taller than his DF!
