8 wk old kind of likes the bath, hates the bit before and after - anyone else?

We have been giving her a bath 2or 3 times a week which her big sister. As soon as she is completely undressed, she cries. In the bath she is ok - fists clenched, looking apprehensive but not crying. As soon as we take her out of the bath, she screams blue murder, this carries on until she has had her nappy put on and her clothes back on. Nothing will console her, not a toy, us talking to her, music - she just goes really red in the face and has proper tears. Anyone else had this and how can I help her feel less scared which is what she seems to be?

Sorry, on a roll tonight with my worries, wouldn't think I was a 2nd time mum.

ds hated his bath. exactly like your dd he cried beoroe and after but not during. Think he just didn't like having no clothes on!
He grew into his baths and now i can't get him out of the bloody thing. we're never happy are we!

sorry to hijack lisa but just wanted to ask sitting bull if 'he'll be ok- growing gorgeous boys into good men' is worth buying?

Totally normal lisa - all mine have screamed after their bath. Some babies hate being undressed which is why they cry; and babies often find the transition from water to dry land a bit upsetting! My ds2 (6 weeks) hates being lifted out of the bath - flings his arms out and seems to think I'm going to drop him! It's a phase and it will pass as she gets older - don't let it stop you bathing her though, just make the change as quick as possible.

mine did the same at that age but grew out of it at some point and began to love the bath, including the before and after.

Do you think being in teh bath with her big sister might get her stressed?

DD was just like this I think it's an air temp thing. It did pass

They don't like being naked. She's grow out of it - just dress her asap.
