19 month old wakes several times a night

Hi all, I know at this age toddlers wake or can wake several times a night. So I’m not looking for any reassurance that this is normal, although, maybe I am…but I am really looking for mums with older children to tell me that one day this will stop!! Can anyone talk from experience here please? My son has been waking several times a night since he started crawling at nine months, or when he was teething, when he had a cold, night terrors or went through this developmental phase or the other - when will it end?? Many thanks.

My 22MO went through a regression at this age and kindof still is. I'm afraid she ended up in bed most nights was our solution lol. She's still waking some nights and coming into our bed but of late she's had quite a few nights where she's slept right through again... hurrah! What's worked for us is being consistent with bedtime and now cutting naps to just 1 hour. I know the guidelines say they still need 1.5 hours at this age but I reckon a decent night's sleep is far more beneficial for all involved than an extra few minutes nap tbh. Good luck. Just be consistent and patient and it probably WILL pass xx

Thanks for your response, I thought about cutting down his naps to 2 hours max as well. Because when he’s not in nursery, where he sleeps 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours at lunch, he can sleep up to 3 hours at home! He is so exhausted on his day off from nursery that he has super long naps… And that’s the thing, it’s never a problem putting him down for a nap or sleep at night… He wakes at 2 am on the dot every night and from then on several times until 630…Sad

My 19 month old does the exact same and it's exhausting!! There also seems to be no rhyme or reason, as he will have one good night followed by several nights of multiple wakings but his routine has been exactly the same...I'm riding the wave for now but it is HARD!
