12 wk old baby - Salivary duct blockage

My baby has three white spots in his mouth (2 on his upper gums and one on the back of his throat). He seems irritated and as though his mouth hurts. He’s rubbing his face aggressively against my shoulder frequently and recently started refusing to eat which is very strange for him. He screams more than normal as well. I brought him to the doctor who quickly looked in his mouth and said he has blocked salivary ducts. I had never heard of this despite googling his symptoms for a week. And my mother, mother in law and aunt who are all nurses never heard of this. I have some oral antifungal medication for him but it has not made any effect yet. Does anyone have any experience with this??
