Between 6.30 and 7pm. Up after 6.30 awake but plays and dozes in his cot.

Miaou · 22/08/2007 15:45

ds1 is 25 months (ish). He has a nap after lunch (about 1.30pm) for 1-2 hours, and goes to bed at about 7. Sleeps until 7ish but then plays in his room till I get him up at 7.45am.

marge2 · 22/08/2007 15:58

Ds is 2.4. Gets up at anywhere between 6.30 and 8am. Usually around 7 - 7.15am. No idea why sometimes so late. No nap at lunchtime anymore or won't go to sleep til 10pm or even later. He is usually in bed by 7.30pm. Being a teensie weensie bit awkward about bedtime in the last couple of weeks so it has been more like 8pm when I finally get to hit the winebottle! Ds1 who is 4 is much better at bedtimes and sleeps longer too.

DS2 hardly ever wakes up in the night any more - only when teething. Then only needs a quick slug of calprofen and a drink and goes back off to sleep pretty much straight away. - Very rare though.

marge2 · 22/08/2007 15:58

I bet he wakes up and screams for hours tonight just to spite me!

katylou25 · 22/08/2007 16:08

ds1 2.7 goes down between 7.30 and 8 and sleeps till about 7ish - he quiite often asks for a nap in the afternoon - particuarly if hes aware of me putting ds2 11mths to bed but if I let him have one hes not ready for bed till 9/10. However do sometimes find him fast asleep in the lounge surrounded by his trains!

Desiderata · 22/08/2007 16:09

ds (2.9) goes off at about eight. He doesn't nap in the day any longer.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 22/08/2007 16:10

My Ds's have always gone to bed at 8pm regardless of age - although DS1 is now going at 7 as he's worse at staying awake waiting for DS2 to come to bed (they share a room) - we tried DS2 going earlier and he just waited up and they made noise together.

loler · 22/08/2007 16:31

The sleeping at nursery thing is really weird!- peer pressure starts at such a young age!

DS has always been very good at going to sleep straight away but am planning to move him to a bed soon as next Tuesday will be needing the cot again! Have put to move off as long as poss as I know bedtime will turn into a chase! DD still hasn't worked out that she can get out of bed by herself, DS not that good!

chipkid · 22/08/2007 16:33

bed at 7-7,30pm up last-usually 8am or later if everybody else sleeps in. She still has an hour in the day most days-she likes her sleep!

3.1yrs - bed between 7-7.30pm
22 mnths - bed between 6-6.45pm

DD1 will occasionally have 45 mins nap
DD2 has 2 hours after lunch, usually 12.30-2.30pm

GooseyLoosey · 22/08/2007 16:46

7 to 7.15 depending on whether she qualifies for a bedtime story or not.

Dd is nearly 3 and has notr eally had a nap for about the last 9 months. Ds who is 4 however did not drop his afternoon nap of an hour or more until he was 3.2.

nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 00:37

mumtoboys · 05/04/2008 10:44

DS1 2.10 still has 1 1/2 hr nap and really grotty if he doesn't get it. Goes to bed at 7 but wakes at around 5.30! I tied to cut his nap to see if he'd wake up later but he got overtired and still woke up at 5.30.

Wendyjayb · 05/04/2008 10:47

DS is 2.5 and has 90 min sleep most days and goes to bed at 7pm. During the week he gets up at 7.15 ass i work full time and weekends about 8.30am

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/04/2008 10:50

DD almost 26 months. Generally no nap, unless dozes off in car. Goes to bed 8-8:30pm and gets up about 6:30am.

nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 10:58

those of you who's dc go to bed between 8 and 9 is it because either you or dp get back late from work and wouldn't get to see them otherwise, or does that not have anything to do with it?

Meandmyjoe · 05/04/2008 11:04

DS is 8 months, has two naps (only half hour long . He goes to bed at 7 and usually sleeps til 6:30am. I start getting him ready and bathing him at 6:15 ish.

Meandmyjoe · 05/04/2008 11:04

My friend's ds is 2 and does't go to bed til 9pm. He won't settle any earlier than that. Think it depends on how active they are though.

bubblagirl · 05/04/2008 11:15

my ds nearly 3 no nap 7 pm if has nap always try to do it before 2 then its 8 pm bedtime

same as when he was 2 he gave up naps at 12 myhs but occasionally has one

Nemoandthefishes · 05/04/2008 11:23

dd1 is 2.4yrs and goes to bed around 7.30-8pm usually have to wait for dd2 to be asleep. Dd1 naps on some days

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/04/2008 11:47

Nappyaddict - no. I'm a SAHM and dd wouldn't sleep for 4 days if she waited for dh, as he's abroad all week .

She (sadly) just doesn't need a lot of sleep. She is the most active child I know most days - doesn't sit down at all - runs around at playgroups or in the garden all day long, but it makes little or no difference to her sleeping.

Whilst you may be able to influence the sleeping patterns of your child, how much total sleep they need just seems to be the luck of the draw.

YouCantTeuchThis · 05/04/2008 11:50

DS is 2.3...

wakes at 6am, naps at around 10-11am for 1-2 hours, bed at 7.30pm-ish.

I hate the early starts but nothing makes him sleep longer...not later bedtimes, cutting naps or more tiring out...

nappyaddict · 05/04/2008 11:52

CSWS - has she always gone to bed at that time? or did she need more sleep when she was younger?

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/04/2008 12:59

No, she didn't need more sleep when she was younger. Why do you think this is my posting name?!
She did nap when she was younger, but never for very long compared to most children.
