3 month old EBF baby slow weight gain

DS was weighed at his 12 week vaccinations and has put on just under 2 lbs since his 6 week check-up. The nurse and health visitor were concerned as he's moved from the 50th centile at birth to the 9th centile now.

I am to continue with BF-ing for now but try to offer more feeds, and he will be reviewed at his 4 month HV check. If his rate of gain hasn't improved we'll be asked to top up with formula.

I'm really keen to stick to EBF if at all possible. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get him to increase his intake?

I aerm to have plenty of milk but DS just isn't that interested in feeding. He will only feed for 5-10 minutes on 1 breast and cries and refuses if I try to put him back on or offer the other breast.

Otherwise he seems happy and healthy - plenty of wet and dirty nappies, very alert, good colour, and slim but not malnourished looking.

Hi, has he been checked for tongue tie? Are there any breastfeeding groups that you could go to? They could check the latch or help with positioning. There are also breastfeeding helplines. You could also try massaging your breast towards the end of a feed. Good luck OP!
