Why would this be happening? He just came in to my room and asked me to smell his pits. Sure enough, they smell of stale sweat!
Any advice?

No real help but my nearly 7 yr old has had fluctuating bo since the spring. I've switched soaps, monitored her washing more closely but no joy. Someone told me it can be related to what they've eaten- school dinners with undercooked onions are apparently a trigger, but that's not the pattern for my dd. I'm debating going to see gp as I've read she's really too young for these problems.

That’s interesting. I did google it but it mainly talked about girls.
Thanks for replying. I think I’ll pop to the gp with him

My son gets BO and he's 8. I don't really understand why you are asking why its happening - they get smelly armpits because they need to wash and put deodorant on? As they get older more hormones come into play etc so we are just very vigilant now about making sure he has a shower or bath every day and particularly that he scrubs under his arms and his private's. There's no reason why it happens apart from them getting older. I'll be the first to admit prior to this age we sometimes skipped a bath or shower and it wasn't every day but now he knows as soon as he comes home from school it's shower time xx

The comment above about needing to go to the GP got me worried and I've just googled, apparently it's very normal for this to be an issue from around 8 or 9 for boys and girls!

Normal. Wash with soap thoroughly, use deodorant such as Simple or Sanex.

Thanks everyone
