Need help desperately. Looking for a pediatric feeding clinic in the UK

Hello, I am from the Netherlands and I have a 15 month old toddler who refuses to eat anything. Nothing at all. She was on breast milk until two months ago and now my supply has died, she is basically starving. Losing weight fast and getting sick all the time.
I saw doctors here but the healthcare is so bad that not many tests have been done. They just told me it is behavioral and there is no treatment plan or suggestions from the doctors.
Me and hubby decided to travel to the UK (preferably London) and find a good clinic to understand the cause and hopefully get a good treatment

Does anybody have any recommended doctors/ clinics?

Is she really losing weight? Weight loss is usually taken fairly seriously in the UK.

Have they done any tests on her at all?

GBiddulph · 21/08/2019 20:56

yes she is 15 months and has gone back to her 9 months weight
NL health system is a joke to be honest- they are telling me it is psychological (without testing for any physical causes) and offer no help
we made an appointment for august 30 and coming to London

@GBiddulph really hope you get some answers when in London. Let us know how you get on.

I really hope that you find some answers in London too and would be interested in how you get on.

While you are waiting to come over, it might be worth having her tongue tie reassessed.

thank you. we will see a pediatric feeding specialist in Bupa Cromwell. I’m sure they can check the tongue tie as well. fingers crossed we get an answer

Having had a DS with Tongue Tie, I really would urge you to see a Tongue Tie assessor. Milk Matters are supposed to be very good.

I was told time and time again by HCPs that my DS didn't have it, only to discover he did and getting him to eat solids was a nightmare for a long time.

There's a list here on other tt practitioners in the UK.

@JiltedJohnsJulie thanks so much, we got it snipped to a tongue tie specialist in Holland and before her 6 different doctors/oral therapists couldn’t diagnose it. I was hoping it would help, I’m wondering if it reattached. How long after the tongue tie snip did you start to see improvements for your son?

We never had it snipped although I really regret that decision. We had a lot of trouble with BFing, trying to get him to eat solids, disturbed sleep and speech.

GBiddulph · 23/08/2019 10:02

@JiltedJohnsJulie oh have the issues been solved then?

Yes. It was found really late so I was reluctant to get it snipped. With hindsight we really, really should have had it done.

He’s a teen now and really only stopped SLT at about 12.
