My son is 16 and likes to be quite isolated is this normal

Hey all i really need some advice my son is almost 17 finished his gcse he has always lacked massively in confidence but is obviously different when he is with his mates more chatty my son spends all his time in his bedroom listening to youtube or music mostly he will come down when he is hungry but straight back up to his pit lol he is starting college september which im hoping will be a game changer hes chosen a college that none of his friends are going to as these colleges doesnt do his chosen course iv asked him does he feel depressed as he is really moody always stuck in his pit never wants to socialise is this normal lol am i way overthinking the situation thanks in advance lol

I have 3 teens and they all like being in their room alone. Luckily they all listen to their music with earphones so I don't have the stereotypical turn the music down argument.

Does he play online games? A lot of teen boy socialising is shouting through gaming headsets in my experience.

Hi sometimes he does play online with his mates but thats rare these days maybe its just a normal teenage phase i hope i just think constantly being on your own can be any good for you but he just laughs at me lol he thinks im ott maybe i am lol x
