LOL at waking a sleeping baby to feed. Would never do that.
My niece once slept from 7pm til 11am when she was a few weeks old and the midwife moaned at my sister and told her to wake her for a feed - why? If she was hungry she would surely make herself heard.

DD2 slept through the night from birth until she was 4 months old then we didn't have a good night until she was three years old. Make the most of it while it lasts.

My3Girls · 02/08/2007 11:49

Its fab ain't it

I actually just contacted my HV to find out if my 8 wk old dd should be left to sleep 12 hours which she did lastnight as I was guenually concerned about dehydration but she said it's cool as she takes 7 oz at most feeds during the day (wee porker) She also slept through from day one although had to set my alarm to wake her when I was trying to BF.

So know it won't last forever though enjoy while we can!!!

A friend's baby did this and we were all , until he hit about 1.5, and that's when the sleepless nights started for them.

Babies are actually designed to wake up in the middle of the night - their tanks are so small, and they have so much growing to do, they need to wake up in the middle of the night to refill them, especially at 8 days old!

Gorgeous boy

DS2 was a good sleeper at this age though...

dd1 slept through from 6 days - 11pm til 7am! And is still a pretty good sleeper.
