2 year old wont let me brush their teeth, it’s a daily struggle

Any tips or suggestions please.
I’ve got 2 toothbrushes on the go at the same time, I let her brush her teeth first, then I try and do the rest but she struggles and closes her mouth, screams, wriggles etc....

One of mine was like this. I used to sing a funny/stupid song which she loved....can't remember it but it culminated in her being tickled at the end of the brushing. So she'd allow it due to the knowing what was coming.

It's such a pain isnt it!
I used to tickle and make mine laugh, so they would open up and I also pretend i can see all the germs in there mouth and act like " omg! I can see them!!! Get out germs" but another trick I've tried is getting a photo on my phone of some rotten teeth and saying " ewww look, this is what happens if you dont let me help you clean your teeth" worked a treat. ( 2 and 3 year old) seems a bit mad but it works and now they just let me help them. ( plus they go the dentist every 6 months since they were 6 months old so know your teeth have to be clean. Good luck.

I was at wits end with this with DS then switched to flavourless toothpaste. It made a huge difference. Maybe worth a try?

A couple of things that sometimes help us - try brushing her toys' teeth first e.g. the bath ducks. Brushing teeth in the bath helps too as they are calmer and distracted. Or do it in the high chair with TV on.

You just need to wait,when will appear teeth

Today was another battle 🤯

Advice please! I’m at my wits end with my 2 year old daughter... she’s started hitting and hair pulling with me, even picking up things to hit me with.. I tell her no and it’s wrong to hit , that it hurts etc but she finds it funny. I really don’t know how to deal with it and I’m worried that she will start doing this with others too any advice welcome

I tried several different things with my kids - they always work for a few days, weeks or even months, then I switch to the next ;)

• Singing
• Letting them brush my teeth at the same time
• Saying we need to brush the food off and let them recite everything they ate that day while brushing
• Just letting them scream while I brush - at least they open their mouths then ;)
