My son hugs people ALL the time...

My son is 7. He's always been affectionate. But recently he just hugs everyone lol.

We just walked into the barbers. He's been here once before. He ran up to the barber and hugged him.

He just randomly hugs people who he hardly knows! Mostly adults who are friends of mine or my partners.

Is this normal behaviour? Should I tell him to stop? I have said to him that he needs to ask before hugging.... maybe say to shake hands ??

Not normal at 7 no....and he needs to be taught that it's not ok either. Definitely tell him "No hugging people unless it's Mum, Dad, or granparents/other close relatives"

Ds was like that at 7yo. His year 2 report said "he hugs anyone who stays still".
He grew out of it with nothing said in the following year or so. He only really hugs me now (when his friends aren't there) and sometimes his sisters. He's 11yo now.
