I am after some books for my DS...

Simple stories that I can miss a word for him to finish to help with his speech. He is very delayed.

Similar to Dear Zoo, Brown bear brown bear what do you see, the lonely firefly etc. So books with a small amount of text each page and a basic story. Any theme please ?

Hairy Mcclary and Slinky Malinki are great because of the rhymes. Very simple and funny stories.

I bought a set of 'Peter and Jane' ladybird books for my kids when they were pre schoolers (i remember using these in my own childhood). The 'stories' aren't exactly scintillating but there is a load of word repetition and slowly build up book by book. The first couple of books maybe have a dozen words per page max, and each book level reuses the words from the previous book and introduces a few new words. There is also an 'a series' and a 'b' series which use the same words but in different orders (so book 1a contains the same vocab as book 1b but to tell a slightly different 'story').

Maybe some of Chris Haughton's? 'A bit lost' and 'Oh no George'.
