WWYD if you found your child had stolen from a supermarket?

After getting home I found that my 4 year old had picked up one of those blind toy bags from Tesco. I'd previously said no so I'm not sure if it's been deliberate or not?

What would you do now?

I found some advice on Quora: www.quora.com/If-your-child-accidentally-stole-items-from-a-store-would-you-take-them-back-and-pay but it all seems to be if you've just left the shop! I'm an hours drive away!

I feel awful keeping it and I'd really rather my boy didn't see stealing as a good option.
Any advice?
