3 Year old's extreme fear of blood

I am just hoping that someone else has come across this or could suggest a way of helping my dd. Around last december, she saw a child at her nursery having a nose bleed. Apparently the child concerned fell over and the blood went on to a number of staff. Since then, she has shown a real fear of blood and indeed, won't talk about illness or injury. Unfortunately, today, she saw a friend having a nose bleed and now refuses any suggestion of playing with them in the future.

I would welcome any suggestions of how best to deal with this. I have tried usual things such as incorporating nose bleeds into role play! etc etc.

TIA

My youngest DS who is now 5 seemed to develop a phobia about blood when he was about 3. It may have been caused by something he saw or heard at his childminders, as we have always played it down and kept fuss to a minimum when anyone in the family hurt themselves, and my other kids have always been pretty laid back about injuries.
He really used to panic if he cut or grazed himself and drew blood. We have just soothed him and tried to make light of it as much as possible, and he does seem to be getting better as he gets older.Cant really suggest any magic cures-your DD may also just grow out of it too.
