11mth old wont crawl or walk etc

I have an 11 mth old dd2. My dd1 was crawling ages before her first birthday and walked a month after her 1st birthday but dd2 isn't showing any sign of wanting to crawl or anything, just drags herself along the floor. Should I be concerned?

DD walked at 21months and knee walked for months before that. She got up and ran across the room one day. I think you've no need to worry.

To echo other posters, they all develop at different times. The tricky bit is being patient and waiting while all the other babies seem to whizz past.

My DD sat up at about 4 months but then did nothing else until she started to bum shuffle at 10 months. She still won't roll over on to her front if you put her on her back, even though she has the strength to get up this way. She always hated tummy time and would scream after about 2 minutes of it. She is now 15 months, has been pulling up for about 4 weeks and the other day I found her standing up in her cot for the first time EVER.

I have done some research into bottom shufflers and they seem to be late walkers. The usual time for them to start walking is 18 months. They walk very well within a short space of time. It usually only takes them a week.

Regarding your DD. My HV told me that if my DD wasn't "moving" at all by 12 or 13 months then I should see my GP and maybe get a referral. But the lack of walking shouldn't be a concern until the DC has passed 18 months of age.

my middle child could only sit at 12mths. She couldn't roll over, go from lying to sitting, or stand at all.

She started bottom shuffling soon after.

My dd dragged herself at 8 months then crawled at 10 months but did not walk till 20 months.
My ds is now 11 months and going from dragging to crawling. He is also very heavy. I think there might be a link with that and not being able to pull himself up as he is not strong enough.
I wont worry about him not walking until 20 months tho.

My ds didn't crawl till a year and didn't walk till 19 months - it never occurred to me to worry, it was luxury knowing that he couldn't get himself into trouble! Now a highly active 2 1/2 year old. Def. wouldn't worry yet.
