My granddaughter cries a lot

She starts crying for any reason and keeps raising her pitch. She thinks
that by crying she will get what she wants. She also cries like this
even if she is hurt a little. What to do?

Ignore as much as possible. Just keep doing what you were going to do, don't give in (obviously), but try not to lose your temper or appear worried either. Brisk and cheerful is a good way to go.

Some children try it on, some children are just naturally anxious; it can be very tricky to tell the difference. Fortunately brisk and cheerful works for both cases.
