My 17mobth old has been a really good eater and recently he has stopped eating any of this main meals on the evening that I offer him. He will eat breakfast with no fuss most days and his snacks are normally fine I will give him cheese ham crackers sandwiches etc for lunch and then a healthy hearty tea which he has all of a sudden stopped eating and refuses point blank it's becoming a battle of wills. I've tried finger foods for self feeding which worked fo a bit and spoon feeding again both these used to wrk now neither. Any advice would be appreciated. Going slightly insane.

How much milk is he drinking @GCJ2? Does he have milk in the afternoon or a snack?

GCJ2 · 30/10/2018 19:47

He only has milk before bed and if he wakes at 4/5 then a little cul if milk with his breakfast that's it none throughout the day he will drink water throughout the day

Ok so is he getting 300 ml in 24 hours or more? What does he eat in a normal day?

Sorry for the questions. It’s pretty normal for a child of this age to start refusing meals. Usually the best way forward is to ignore and assume they’re not hungry but you may be able to alter things a little by reducing milk, if LO is having a lot, or cutting back on snacks.

Have you tried keeping a food diary too? Lots of babies and children eat much more some days than others. Keeping a diary helps you to look at what they e eaten over a week rather than focusing on a day or even just one meal Smile
