Hi everyone
I’ve posted a few times before and I always find it so helpful. Basically my 6 year old ds has never been easy or anything but lately his behaviour has gone from okay / sometimes bad to very very naughty / silly / defiant behaviour . I love him dearly and just want the best for him and I know that behaving this way needs to stop problem is I am at a loss with how to go about managing / stopping the behaviour .
He has started to just completely refuse to do things such as getting dressed , brushing teeth , leaving a park or other place etc. He says no runs away and no matter how I try to approach the issue he just laughs and says no and runs away. Today I had to actually carry him like a baby to my car When he refused to come with me from the shop back to the car . Surely this is not normal at 6 years old.
The laughter thing is really hard to deal with - laughing when trying to discipline seems to grind my gears the most but I always try my hardest to remain calm but I do sometimes have to shout ( not that he shows any reaction to the shouting either).
He’s very moody and defiant and is ignoring most of the things I ask him to do. How do I go about tacking This? He has recently started refusing to go to bed and runs around after being told to go into bed .. then laughing etc when I try and get him to bed again.
He has a 2 year old sister and I really don’t want her to think this is normal or acceptable :(
