Do you have a toilet seat he can fit on comfortably? We have a family toilet seat, it has a smaller pull down seat as well as an adult sized one . Some toilet stickers to make to toilet look fun and friendly can help, as can reading a book to them as they try to poo.

The other thing i'd suggest is a stool to put his feet on to help to 'push down' on, he may feel unsteady perched high up on a loo. Does he manage a potty?

Hi he seems to be comfy on the seat but i will actually try the child seat it might make a difference...thankyou so much for your help

If you imagine the height of thing to put his feet on so he has his knees up a bit so his bum is angled down it makes it easier for some people so they can push. Like the angle you’d be in if you were squatting (as in other cultures) but actually sat on the loo seat

So a potty naturally works at that angle
