My DS is a lion, what animal is yours today?

My DS 2.10 has been acting like a lion all week even eating his dinner with his mouth, paws either side of the bowl. He growls rather than talks. If he's not a lion he's a horse or a very loud squeaky guinea pig. Help I can't be the only mum who's feeling more like a zoo keeper.

Ds3 is 2.9 and he is always, always a baby tiger.

I am a mummy tiger, ds1 and ds2 are brother tigers and dh is daddy tiger.

Oh yes, DD (4) often insists I refer to her as "baby lion" rather than her given first name. Weirdo.

She also has two imaginary frien horses. They are both named Punto. One is a pony. I think they are relate... mother and child possibly.

DD (2.7) went to nursery as a dog this week. She would only bark at her keyworker and insisted that she be called "doggy Hebe!!!"

3 year old ds is a snap snap (crocodile)
Dh is a big fish and dd is a baby duck. Not sure what that makes me...

DS2 refused to take off his paws (socks) all morning as he was a cat snail. I'm not sure where the snail bit went. Something to do with a rolled up sheepskin, I think. I'm quite fond of the crab too, he does that after the bath, and crawls all the way to his bedroom under a towel which I have to lift up and exclaim ooh look there's a crab. I'm fairly sure most of these ideas originate from Charlie & Lola

DD 7 yrs can still spend a couple of hours as a very convincing cat or dog.

I keep telling myself it is good for her drama and acting skills.

Usually a tiger - and I have to be a mummy tiger. I am happy with this because with dd we had to be bizarre things like "a family of pencils" Once she was a roll of wallpaper and I had to paste her on the wall. Another time she was a basket of washing and had to be pegged on the line. Thank your lucky stars for lions and cats and snails!

frog and rabbit (lots of jumping around)

Though he insisted frogs had teeth and were perfectly capable of biting feet (gently).

He was a cat for a while I think (he insisted on being stroked)

We think that DS1 was a mouse today. He kept darting into the suitcase we were trying to pack, hoarding his toys then shutting the lid on himself and trying to do the zip up

Ds has been a lion, a dog or a frog all week.

Dd has been a dog

However today they have both been rabbits due to the appearance of one (plus a ruddy great big hutch) in our conservatory).

It IS going in the garden first thing tomorrow!

Tonight ds3 switched from baby tiger to baby monkey. He certainly is one of those! Whole huge bar of dairy milk he swiped from the fridge today and scoffed it while hiding under the dining table! Ha ha!

Baby rabbit. Always.

DD insists on playing this game after a bath. She curls up on her bed, under the towel, pretending to be an egg.

I am mummy rabbit & have to sit on her until the egg is warm enough to hatch.

Baby rabbit (or sometimes baby mermaid) then slowly emerges from egg.

Mummy rabbit expresses unmitigated delight at what a lovely baby she has.

And yes, I have told her that rabbits & mermaids don't lay eggs.

Dd was a squirrel on Friday. I didn't think too much of it until I sat on the pile of walnuts she had hidden under the sofa cushion. The whole 'imaginary' thing is lost on her...

DD1 is mostly a cat.
DD2 is often a lion.

DS1 is usually a train. When he's not a train, he's a car. And when he's not a car, he's a space rocket. And when he's ... Etc

Both my two lads, 5 & nearly 3 year old, are both T- Rex's . Usually start up after tea for a mad half hour- longer if they were allowed to. Scrawling all over the lounge with terrifying growls & roars. Emerging after their 'do' breathless & red faced, desperate for refreshment. Meanwhile, hubby dashes to the other room, muttering about sorting something out on the computer- just as the T-Rex's commence their battle!
My 5 yr old, at tea time attacks his meal like a T- Rex- particularly wanting to eat the meat with great relish, with a few sound effects!
What an exciting life- you never know- one day to the next! Make the most of it, I say (gritting my teeth)!
