Tearing my hair out - 4yr old DS

At my wits end with 4yr old DS.

I worry if he has some kind of ODD.

Last night ended with him scratching my arm so hard it drew blood and hurts today. Shouting and screaming, scratching, spitting at me. Various reasons. All because he didn't like what was asked of him.

This morning began with chairs being tipped over, more punching me, but my stomach so hard it's left bite marks. Threats and naughty step make no difference, he tantrums worse, then lashes out again. In an outburst earlier he pushed over his 2yr old sister. She's terrified of him.

Im at my wits end. Trying to manage this without DH around as he works abroad.

Nursery tell me he's model child there, as do extended family when he goes to visit.

Anyone had similar? This isn't a one off, we've had it at various pints through his life. Massively high energy, highly needy child.

That does sound hard. When he punches or bites, what do you do OP?

A book that was suggested on here recently was Divas & Dictators and lots of MNers were saying how good it was. Might be worth having a look at Smile

Thanks, I'll look it up. I refuse to accept his behavior is normal anymore 😔
